Meet Elise

I'm Elise Verdugo. I run Recursum.AI

Which means I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about artificial intelligence, human intelligence,
and why putting the word "AI" in front of something apparently makes everyone lose their imagination.

AI is getting smarter ridiculously fast.

Good.

I'm less interested in celebrating what machines can do and more interested in what happens to us
when extraordinary intelligence becomes ordinary.

What happens to ambition when capability is cheap?

What becomes valuable when answers aren't?

What happens when machines know us well enough to challenge us, anticipate us, influence us,
and occasionally point out that we're full of shit?

Those questions are behind much of what we're building at Recursum.AI

They're also increasingly behind how I see the world.

I care about intelligence. Power. Ambition. Human potential. Beauty. Taste.
Technology. Bad ideas that survive because everyone is too polite to kill them.

-I like difficult questions.

-Beautiful things.

-Ambitious people.

-Ideas that make intelligent people uncomfortable.

And apparently, photographs CEOs aren't supposed to take.

You'll see some of those too.

I don't want to predict the future from the sidelines.

I want to build things inside it, question the people defining it, and have considerably more fun
than the technology industry seems to think we're allowed to have.
